Hey there! I'm Vivian. Sometimes I write about life and sometimes I write about teaching.

I’m a Monday calendar start person. I mean, isn’t Sunday still the weekend? That makes Monday the 1st day of the week which also means it’s an odd day. Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday are even days–at least in my mind. Does anyone else categorize the days like this?

Anyway, after my friend posted this video on Monday (and I edited it today), it made me wonder how come the even days don’t have as many emotions or fun sayings. You’ve got your manic Mondays, Monday blues, hump day Wednesdays, Fri-YAY, Sunday fundays or Sunday scaries. What about poor Tuesday, Thursday, or Saturday? Sure, there’s Taco Tuesdays, but let’s be honest, that’s more about the taco and less about the Tuesday.

I’m just saying let’s give a little love to the even days.

Love this post! It reminds me of how I became aware recently about how I unconsciously infused the letters and numbers with personalities and relationships as I learned them growing up. 7 was the cool older brother, while 8 was the bossy older sister who the brother begrudgingly respected and was a tiny bit afraid of. This is only one of the many scenarios my little budding brain formulated. Wild!

Vivian, I totally came here to learn more about even and odd days. New concept for me. I will admit that Thursday gets a lot of love from me when it’s a horrible Thursday! or the week already seems to be 10 days long!

    Great ideas!

Oh, I’m a Sunday – Saturday girl! Seeing calendars start on Mondays feels like I’m wearing my shirt backward. I guess I have never thought about the week with having odd/even days. Interesting thoughts.

  4. Tammy says:

I have never thought of this idea before but I love it! Thank you for sharing!

  5. Fun. I have had this thought, but I’ve never thought to celebrate it!

  6. Fun! Love this. I have had this thought that Tuesdays are the second day of the week, and thus, even days. I never thought to celebrate this fact though. “A little love to the even days!” P.S. You have the most beautiful website.

Hi Vivian. I’ve wondered why Thursdays tend to get left out of the loop. I mean, it’s Friday Eve. And now I have The Cure’s Friday I’m in Love in my head, “Thursday, I don’t care about you…” But I like Thursdays. They’re underrated. I like them much better than Fridays.
