It’s not unusual to see squirrels or coyotes in the middle of the street even as close as we are to the city, but last Friday we had some new wildlife stop by for a visit.
I was driving around the corner from the house and my brain registered that there was something alive blocking the road ahead of me. However, it took a minute to activate my schema and understand that it wasn’t one of the usual culprits.
Cat? No.
Squirrel? No.
Coyote? No.
Bird? Yes.
Crow? No.
They’re PEACOCKS.
There are peacocks that regularly live in the surrounding neighborhoods, maybe 5-10 miles away, but we never see them in our neck of the woods. They hung out for most of the day in that same spot, but were gone by the next morning. Maybe this will be a new staycation spot for them.
