Who moved my blog?

Every Tuesday for the last few weeks (months?) at around 1 am, when I’m suffering from insomnia, I see the Slice of Life email. And every time, my heart does a little jig of excitement. Ooooh, what will I write this week? But then I start to go through the list of ideas and none of them seem to be the right one. Or I just can’t choose. So, I don’t write anything.😞

This was the week I decided that I would not skip writing! In preparation I decided to open up my blog and review my recent writing. An error message popped up. Why was the page not found? Was it my Internet connection? No. Did I type the address incorrectly? No. I tried to look at it from the public link. Error message! Nooooooo! I quickly went to my WordPress account. All of my blog posts from June 2022 and forward are nowhere to be found. I try the links one more time just to be sure and then I remember. I did something, what I don’t know exactly, to try to move my blog posts to a different site. After getting trapped in a technical quagmire that I couldn’t get out of I decided to quit and put “contact support” on my to do list. That was last week.

Let’s just say support has been contacted and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I get my old blog back. (And I get back into a writing routine!)

I am so sorry this happened to you. I worry about my writing disappearing, too, and I’ve noticed weird things since WordPress switched to JetPack. My friend Barb who started blogging last March can’t get her email address changed, so she hasn’t posted since early summer. Good luck w/ “support.” I hope they’re supportive, and I’m glad to see you back.

Picture me, in that classic slo-mo camera/audio shot: “Nooooooooooooooooo!!!”

Oh, man, Vivien. This is unsettling, to say the LEAST. I thought I was in a tricky situation when I realized that Chrome and WordPress are not playing well, and I have to go on to Safari to compose or manage any of my blogs. But YOU, my friend, have the proverbial short end of the stick.

Here’s hoping things get settled…and soon!

Also my fingers did NOT type what my brain was thinking, and should have tapped “Vivian.” Booo.

Oh, Vivian! Yikes. I hope all is settled soon and your posts come back. This is surely not the way you wanted to find a topic to write about, but it’s good to see you back.
