{This is a short one since I don’t have time, but I want to keep the streak going!}
Last August my sister turned 40. She wanted, or at least thought she wanted, to run the Sea Wheeze half marathon in Vancouver to celebrate. Her friends, our other sister, and I, all dutiful followed whatever directions were given to get us into the race. We found out that we had gotten in to this highly coveted event to find out just another couple months later that the race had been canceled. Fast forward to January of this year when I turned 50 and it was still not safe to travel. Our big birthday celebrations would have to wait.
This last weekend the three of us finally had an opportunity to celebrate the two big milestones: 40 and 50! Although we kept it pretty close to home, we had a wonderful time treating ourselves to some delicious food and relaxation time in Santa Barbara, just a few hours drive away for us. After this year, I’ll never consider it “too late” to celebrate a birthday.
