On a whim last month, I posted a call on Instagram for anyone who wanted to do a book club with me. For almost 15 years I had a book club that read professional development books together, but now that most of the group has retired we’re reading “regular” books together now. Anyway, it’s something I’ve missed dearly.

Not only were there some takers, Kate Roberts, the author of The Heart of Fiction, messaged to ask how she could help! A few days after posting and reaching out to a few people, we had a club comprised of educators from California to Texas and even Canada. I didn’t know how many times people were interested in actually meeting and was pleasantly surprised that everyone wanted to come back for multiple to meetings to discuss the book. AND the best surprise of all is Kate joined us for two of those meetings.
We had great discussions and I learned that you should absolutely put out the call!
