Celebrations

Today I had the opportunity to have quick check-ins with teachers at one of the schools I work at. Each conversation started with celebrations or wins for the year. What a JOY it was to hear about kids’ growth in writing skills, as well as their confidence! It was so affirming to hear that giving kids choice and meeting them where they are can lead to great things.

This book, written by a 2nd grader, is literally called It Is Okay To. It’s about allowing yourself to feel and experience things that aren’t always the best.

“It’s okay to” is a brilliant idea for a picture book! It’s wonderful to have these moments toward the end of the year to reflect and celebrate growth and progress!
